Human Revolution is a novelized account of the history and development of the Soka Gakkai Buddhist organization by third Soka Gakkai president Daisaku Ikeda. The names of the characters have been fictionalized and Ikeda appears in the work as Shin\u2019ichi Yamamoto.<\/p>\r\n<p>Ikeda began writing The New Human Revolution on August 6, 1993, and completed it on August 6, 2018. It was serialized in the Soka Gakkai\u2019s daily newspaper, the Seikyo Shimbun, during this time, with the final installment published on September 8, 2018.<\/p>\r\n<p>August 6 is the anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima in 1945 and September 8 is the anniversary of the Declaration Calling for the Abolition of Nuclear Weapons by Ikeda\u2019s mentor and predecessor, Josei Toda, in 1957. Ikeda\u2019s choice with regard to these dates reflects the novel\u2019s deep concern with the peace of humanity.<\/p>\r\n<p>The work comprises 6,469 installments.
